Returns and Cancellations for Private purchases

Private purchases are transactions for goods or services made by individuals for personal use, rather than for a business or the public sector.

For business customers please see this page: Business Returns

The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 gives private customers buying from distance or off premises sales the right to:

Cancel an order starting from the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods. If your order consists of multiple goods, the 14 day period runs from when you get the last of the batch

This 14 day period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel, you then have a further 14 days to actually send the goods back. You should get a refund within 14 days of us getting the goods back, or you providing evidence of having returned the goods (for example, a proof of postage receipt from the post office), whichever is the sooner. Goods are not sold on a trial basis. The product must not have been used or installed or had any data inputted. We will not refund delivery costs if an item is not faulty or damaged.

You must pay for the cost of their return back to us and this should be by a tracked method. Please include a copy of the invoice and a reason for return.

Exemptions

There are some circumstances where the Consumer Contracts Regulations won’t give you a right to cancel. A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced, as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. The extent to which you can handle the goods is the same as it would be if you were assessing them in a shop.

The goods must be in an ‘as new’ condition and returned in the original, undamaged packaging. It is recommended that the goods are re boxed for transport.

Goods are not sold on a trial basis. The product must not have been used or installed or had any data inputted.

Whilst the goods are in your possession you must take reasonable care of them and not use them. Any sealed packaging must remain sealed.

Please contact us by email sales@microcommunications.co.uk explaining why goods are being returned and to obtain a returns number. A returns number assists us in processing returns.

The manufacturers packaging must not be written on.

Faulty Goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you’re entitled to a full refund within 30 days of receiving goods that are:

  • Faulty,

  • Not as described, or

  • Unfit for their intended purpose.

If goods are faulty please contact us by email: sales@microcommunications.co.uk to obtain a returns number before sending items back. This is because we receive many deliveries per day and will assist us in processing the return.

You will be advised how the goods are to be sent back. This may be by Royal Mail Tracked, Special Delivery or our own courier. We will refund reasonable postage costs.

Please enclose details of the defect/damage or discrepancy including print samples where applicable.

Enclose the original or a copy of the sales invoice.

Faulty products still within the manufacturer’s warranty period should, if possible, be returned in their original packaging.
